Technology transfer from the EU to Ukraine
At the end of March, a unique event took place in Ivano-Frankivsk – the inauguration of the EU to Ukraine Technology Transfer Platform, organized by the Ivano-Frankivsk National Technical University of Oil and Gas (IFNTUNG). The initiative aims to support Ukraine’s economic development by implementing innovative solutions and building lasting ties with European Union partners.
The event brought together representatives from science, industry, and government. Among others, scientists from Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany were present. The main objective was to show concrete mechanisms for knowledge and technology transfer that can be successfully implemented in Ukraine.
Polish representation also played a significant role – the event was attended by representatives of Geopartner Geofizyka (Jacek Słowiński and Marek Wojdyła), who introduced the participants to best practices in geophysical exploration of mineral deposits and technologies for strengthening flood control structures. Our presence highlighted the importance of international cooperation in geophysics and engineering and the exchange of experience between academic institutions and the industrial sector.
The meeting discussed, among other things, the need to create a national strategy for technology transfer, the importance of commercializing research results, and building an ecosystem to support innovation.
This is another step for Ukraine towards European standards of innovation and scientific-industrial cooperation.
